Before the windy season, enjoy the beautiful weather in downtown!
Today felt like the first real day of Spring in Las Cruces with a wonderful 82 degrees outside. With this in mind, I decided to create a downtown guide to maximize this amazing season before the blustery dust storms arrive. So how should you spend these next couple of weeks? Downtown has options for everyone!
March’s Food Truck Fiesta is happening next Wednesday from 5-8pm in the Plaza de Las Cruces. Walk around the plaza and try amazing fresh food from local Las Cruces
With an outside patio cafe, downtown’s Zeffiro Pizzeria offers delicious Italian cuisine (especially the calzones, so yummy!), freshly baked bread, and optimal outdoor eating space with shading for the beautiful weather.
Parks and Recreation
Within walking distance from Zeffiro’s you also have the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors at two parks: Pioneer Women’s Park by Alma d’Arte Charter School and Klein Memorial Park along Mesquite district. Both parks are complete with jungle gyms for children to play, and picnic tables to eat lunch.
Have a swimsuit? Check out the splash pad at the Plaza de Las Cruces to cool off!
Is spring fever making you want to get more active? Downtown is lucky enough to have not one, but two amazing yoga studios within reach! Dwell yoga on Main street is takes wellness to a new level with a built in juice shop and massage therapy room. Downtown Desert Yoga on Alameda will fulfill all your yogi needs with classes of all experience levels and interests!
If cardio is what you like check out Run Culture, Las Cruces’ very own specialty running store with amazing prices on running shoes, shirts, shorts, and gear for you and your canine companion. Be sure to say hello to Carlos and his adorable dog, Lucy!
Decoration and Home
Spring cleaning always gets me in the mood to decorate my space. With unique vintage finds, Patina Home has decor for everyone no matter what your aesthetic is.
Want fresh decoration? Downtown Florist has you covered! With flower choices of roses, peonies, daisies, lilies, tulips, and much more you will not only bring a pop of color to your space but add floral scents for Spring.
