Downtown Las Cruces Partnership Presents Sage Spices

Las Cruces, NM – This month, as part of the Downtown Las Cruces Partnership Business Spotlight Video Series, we had the honor of sitting down and talking with downtown business Sage Spices.

One-of-a-kind

Nestled in the center of downtown, Sage Spices can be found in the La Esquina Courtyard. With its roots back in Missouri, owners Dave and Kelly Sontheimer bring the best of St. Charles Mainstreet to the main street of Las Cruces. Being the first of its kind in Las Cruces, Sage Spices provides oils, vinegar, sauces, dips, organic teas, Amish candy, and more. After visiting Sage Spices, your culinary ways will be transformed!

Bringing the Best to the Southwest

Working with many small businesses and families, Sage Spices is proud that all its products are fresh, high quality, and affordable. A small family in California creates their oils and vinegar, using California olives and vinegar imported from Italy. The Amish popcorn is made by a family in Iowa with corn grown in the region. Their honey is from the Las Cruces area, as well as a variety of salsas and peppers. These products do not even scratch the surface of what all Sage Spices offers!

Sugar, Spice, and Everything Nice

Sage Spices has brought spice and sweetness to their customers’ kitchens and lives. And the feeling is mutual, Dave and Kelly told stories of customers excitedly bringing them meals made with Sage Spices’ products. Sometimes, it is so much food that Dave and Kelly can enjoy it over several meals. One of Sage Spices’ employees, Mike, summed it up well when he said:

“[Working here] You make friends, maybe not close friends, but you make friends…And there is going to be something for everyone here.”

Stop and Smell the Spices

As you stroll through the Saturday Farmers Market, be sure to get a sample of olive oil from Mike and have your palate transformed. You won’t be able to resist browsing through the rest of the shop for yummy jams, teas, popcorn, and all the other goodies that Sage Spices offers.

While downtown, stay a while and meet their courtyard neighbors too!
