“AL : A armando lopez architecture” is a small, progressive design practice launched by Armando Lopez AIA in 2011. Prior to relocating to Las Cruces, New Mexico and founding the firm, Armando resided in Los Angeles for 20 years where he had the opportunity to work for several widely respected architectural firms. Of note were acclaimed international firm The Jerde Partnership and most recently the “school experts” Pica & Sullivan Architects. He received his Master of Architecture from the University of California, Los Angeles. Prior to graduate school he received his BA in Architecture from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque alongside a short stint in the studio of renowned architect Antoine Predock. Armando has varied experience with projects ranging in size from small residential renovations, church renovations, custom homes, post offices, commercial, public/private schools, senior housing, a “city hall”, to a 96,000sf “state of the art” private high school. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and is a licensed architect in California, New Mexico and Texas. AL:A was formed in the interest of providing the finest and most comprehensive architecture and engineering services. We emphasize a collaborative approach to building design. It is our belief that architectural services are founded on responsiveness to client needs and goals, access to experienced consultants, the practice of appropriate project management and good “design” solutions. The strength of our office lies in the translation of these services through innovative ideas for projects of modest scope to larger projects of more complexity. We have a philosophy of working which places the client at the center. We listen carefully to our clients and through the process of design we attempt to deliver to them a project which is truly theirs.
