Orlando Padilla

With a wide-ranging 34-year global career at General Motors, Orlando brings to bear a wealth of experience to the DLCP Board of Directors. Previously, Orlando chaired the GM China Public Policy Team that successfully achieved re-establishing GM operations in China and improve US-China commercial relations. Another of Orlando’s accomplishments includes leading the coordination among 7 automotive companies in establishing a MOU with California environmental agencies to negotiate the Zero Emission Vehicle (i.e. Electric Vehicle) mandate in achieving safety & readiness.  This laid the foundation for creating the first automotive association in history between American and foreign automotive companies.

Orlando T. Padilla established Padilla NetWorks LLC in 2010 which provides global public policy, strategic planning, and issues management expertise on domestic and international business topics to Fortune 500 clients and new business ventures. Currently, Orlando serves as Senior Advisor to Board members and Officers representing a portfolio of several Fortune 500/1000 companies in 15 industries and serving or served on the board of directors of 18 non-profit organizations.

 

Orlando has been named by Hispanic Business Magazine for several years as one of the most influential Hispanics and listed on the Corporate Elite – Top 100 Hispanic Executives. He was also honored three different years with a Distinguished Alumni Award from New Mexico State University.
